Revised accreditation standards approved by the Board

24 Apr 2019

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the Board) has approved the Australian entry-level occupational therapy education programs – December 2018, developed by the Occupational Therapy Council of Australia Ltd (OTC).

The Board considered the final report regarding the review undertaken by the OTC of the Accreditation standards for Australian entry-level occupational therapy education programs – December 2013, together with the final version of the Accreditation standards for Australian entry-level occupational therapy education programs – December 2018 (the revised accreditation standards).

On 1 March 2019, the Board approved the accreditation standards, with an effect date of 1 January 2020. The Board also agreed that the current accreditation standards (December 2013) will no longer be approved and in effect as of 1 January 2020, and these will be retired once the revised accreditation standards are in effect.

The revised accreditation standards were developed following wide-ranging consultation about their content undertaken by the OTC.

The revised accreditation standards are published here.
