Webinar for new occupational therapy graduates on how to register now available

06 Dec 2018

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the Board) would like to thank everyone who joined the recent webinar for new occupational therapy graduates.

The webinar was hosted by the Chair of the Board, Ms Julie Brayshaw, who presented the registration process for new and soon-to-be occupational therapy graduates.

The webinar was attended by 239 participants with a high level of engagement reflected in the large number of questions posed by attendees during the event.

The webinar provided an important and timely opportunity for graduates to gain an in-depth view of the Board’s requirements which they have to meet to become a registered occupational therapist in Australia, including:

  • the role of the Board
  • the role of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • the process for registering for the first time, including when and how to apply, and
  • their obligations as a registered health practitioner, such as meeting the Board’s registration standards, codes and guidelines, and information about the notifications process.

If anyone was unable to attend the webinar the Board has published a recording on the New graduates page of the Board’s website. There are also some FAQs for new occupational therapy graduates related to questions raised during the webinar.
