Occupational Therapy Board of Australia’s threshold competency standards for the occupational therapy profession

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia is developing new threshold competency standards for the occupational therapy profession in Australia. The new threshold competencies will reflect current standards and will be suitable for use in clinical, educational and regulatory contexts.

The Board is seeking tenders from suitably experienced consultants to research competency standards and consult with all relevant stakeholders before developing new threshold competency standards for occupational therapists in Australia.

FAQ regarding request for tenders: Develop threshold competency standards for Australian occupational therapists

Will AHPRA/Occupational Therapy Board of Australia provide the successful tenderer with administrative support?

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and AHPRA are able to assist and support the successful tenderer with basic administrative assistance that includes:

  • receiving and logging feedback and correspondence
  • emailing and mailing stakeholders
  • arranging venues for meetings and forums
  • formatting correspondence and external facing documents
  • publishing consultations, draft versions and media items on the Board’s website

Will AHPRA/Occupational Therapy Board of Australia provide the successful tenderer with support/assistance to facilitate focus groups and/or similar activities?

The Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and AHPRA are not able to support the successful tenderer by facilitating focus groups or similar activities nor are they able to assist with technical support for webinars or web based consultation. AHPRA and the Board are happy to discuss the use of other external contactors to provide these additional services as part of any tender.
