National Board recognises special week for occupational therapists

22 Oct 2014

Board Chair highlights the important contribution of occupational therapists to the community.

On behalf of the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia (the National Board), I am proud to highlight the important work of occupational therapists in Australia.

The National Board acknowledges the contribution by over 16,000 registered occupational therapists to the health of the Australian community. Their work supporting people affected by illness and disability contributes positively to the health and wellbeing of individuals for whom everyday life can sometimes be a challenge.

Through professional practice occupational therapists are helping Australians of all ages to achieve goals and ultimately lead fulfilling lives.

Sunday 19 October to Saturday 25 October 2014 is Occupational Therapy Week with the theme Reach your pOTential.

The theme reflects outcomes that occupational therapists strive to help their clients achieve on a daily basis.

Registered occupational therapists meet the rigorous education, ethical and professional standards set by the National Board.

The National Board is committed to supporting occupational therapists to provide safe and professional health care for the Australian community.
